Losing track

I feel like the speaker is trapped by herself.
That she is alone in the ocean. To me the whole ocean felt like it was her world.
The world with the tides, how it is unbalanced, how it has up and downs.
How life will sometimes make you feel like the waves are trying to take over you and knock you down.
But you have to fight aganist the tides if you dont want to be lonely.
I get the sense that she is alone now and she is trying to fight through it because no one ever wants the feeling of being alone.

Under stars

She is walking at night time thinking of the person who she has written the letter for. “All night it will say one name” the name of the person who she is thinking about the entire time she is walking. She feels the warm air on her; she loves that calm feeling that the weather is giving her. She wants that feeling back that she felt when she was with him. All night she will be on her mind no matter what she does. Everything will remind her of him. The analogy that she gave “ those games played after dark.” Drew my attention because love is like a game and she feels like she is playing a game. Games like she use to play as a child. Games that she no longer wants to play many years later. She is touched by what is around her like the wet grass, and while she is touching the grass, the “wet” grass which the image of it makes me feel like she loves that feeling, and loves that feeling of being with the person who touched her life.

I feel like this a a scene that I myself would be. Just the feeling the poem gave me was as if I was in her shoes. How I longed to say words to someone but was not able to, and everything was inside a letter for them to read. And I am walking feeling the breeze on my skin and looking at the bright stars in the night sky.

Birches

Nature is shown throughout this poem. I like the imagery of one tree being behind an even darker one as if it were continuous. It talks about how beautiful the trees look after all the storms they have gone through. And how the leaves are like a trail that the trees leave behind for someone else to find. I feel like this poem is mostly about find yourself and who you are and what you truly want.

After Apple-Picking

To me i feel like I am there, I am able to feel this calm feeling.
Apple picking is very calming and you have to be able to determine a good apple from a bad one.
I like the symbol how the ladder was facing towards the heaven because something so simple can be looked upon as a higher power. The smell of the apples fills the air. And it almost feels like a dream

Fish

I found the poem very compelling, and very detailed.
It was symbolic, how human nature is, and how we can give up fighting and accept our lives.
Every detail doesnt go unnoticed.. A clear image allows us to feel emotion and put ourselves in the authors shoes.
The accuracy of the story, allows us to sense the emotion in the story.
